Bandai Delays Eureka Seven Movie For Us!

Well, not really, but you know.

Okay, probably not REALLY "for us," but hey, they are delaying the release of Eureka Seven -good night sleep tight young lovers- (also known as Eureka Seven: Pocketful of Rainbows) to almost the same time our streaming run of Eureka Seven-- which has been going on more or less daily at my blog --until March 2nd, instead of its original February 9th release date. That's true for both the DVD and the Blu-Ray.

Handy that it'll be out (and maybe on sale!) as soon as we finish the show, although probably annoying for those who've already watched it. Sorry!

According to the mailer I got from Bandai, two other titles were also delayed: Hayate the Combat Butler volume 4 and Kurokami part 1 DVD and Blu-Ray, both to the same date (March 2nd).

I'm unsure about this movie. There is always such promise in these anime movies, but they pretty much never give a better feeling at the end then the regular anime had. Like with Fullmetal Alchemist. The series had an unsatisfying ending. The movie had an unsatisfying ending.

More time means more work on these releases so I wont mind a delay (Also I barely have any money left).

@FoxxFireArt: Well, FWIW, the FMA movie was a continuation; the Eureka Seven movie is a completely AU version of the original story.

Hmm could they be trying to push it into their next fiscal year with the hope those titles will sell well and start them off with something nice to tell their investors at the beginning of the year?

@gia:
Alternate Universe telling? That seems even more dull.

I've often noticed a lot of similarities between Eureka Seven and Evangelion. Both start off rather lighthearted with some fan service and turn rather dark and depressing near the end( i.e. the severed hand with the ring), both had kuudere girls (Rei/Eureka), both have tsundere girls (Asuka/Anemone), and both have whiny protagonists with some sort of power that moves the machines (Shinji/Renton), I could go on.

@FoxxFireArt: Well, I ideally like to see things before I decide whether they're good or not. But in this case, I have seen the first, mm, ~5-10 minutes of it (offered as a preview/trailer at a couple of cons last year). I could definitely see myself sitting back and enjoying it. It didn't seem like an end-all-be-all, but hey,  neither is the original series so far. (I'm still only on episode 9.)

Oh, so you haven't gone all the way through series yet? My bad. Now I'm glad I didn't mention who's severed hand that was. lol

Eureka is another anime featuring the VA Koshimizu Ami. Though, this anime was very well dubbed.
