FUNimation has announced the dub cast for Bamboo Blade, a fun comedy that manages to be essentially a shounen tournament type show that revolves around a group of really fun female characters (and not fun in the way that, say, Ikki Tousen's girls are fun). The manga, currently being published in English by Yen Press, runs in seinen magazine Young GanGan.
Anyway, lead sword-fighter and would-be sentai fighter Tamaki will be played by Cherami Leigh (Shuffle!'s Primula, Negima's Setsuna). Chipper blonde fighter Kirino Chiba will be played by Luci Christian (Ouran High School Host Club's Honey-sempai, Azumanga Daioh's Yukari-sensei), and Kirino's partner-in-crime Sayako Kuwahara will have Brina Palencia (BECK's Maho Minami, the new Rei Ayanami in Evangelion 1.0) playing her. Carrie Savage (Black Cat's Saki, Kamichu!'s Tama) will take on the role of the bespectacled Satori Azuma, and the slightly multiple-personality Miya-Miya will be voiced by Leah Clark, aka School Rumble's Eri Sawachika and Negima's Nodoka Miyazaki.
Whew. And that's just the leads! Here's the full cast and staff list offered so far:
