AV MOD MATERIAL: Winter 2013 Anime Preview

The Winter Season has begun, but let's see what it all has to offer....

It's Bigheart and Takashichea once again! We'll get to our usual job later this week, but right now, let's see what the Winter 2013 Anime Season's throwing at us, and man, it's like they're throwing a houseful of bricks at us. @_@

BigHeart711's commentary

Winter Anime 2013 Commentary

Some of these series seems promising, but the series I'm most looking forward to is Tamako Market just out of curiosity. The other series I'll more than likely see are Ishida to Asakura, Ai Mai Mi and Senran Kagura. I'm excited for Doki Doki Pretty Cure, but I'm already neck deep in two PC series, so I'll have to just put that on my radar until later. I'd check out Milky Holmes Season 2 as well, but I want to go through Season one first since the whole series is interesting too. The least interesting to me is Puchimas and all ofGdgd Fairies, but I'll have to watch out if they end up doing well this season.

Winter Movies/Blu-Ray/OVA Commentary

Sadly, I don't have much of anything on that part except for Tiger and Bunny the Beginning. The whole series is fun so far, but I still have yet to finish it all. I also have an urge to check out Blood-C: The Last Dark out of curiosity even though Blood-C wasn't as fun as Blood+ to me.

Takashichea's commentary

Winter Anime

I'm stoked to try out Karneval since I haven't tried a lot of josei themed shows, and I need to get out of my shonen/comedy preferences. The premise of two wanted criminals escaping from a group called Circus sounds very interesting. The second show is Sasami-san @ganbaranai because the trailer reveal such unique animation and color. It look like it was painted. Last one is Maoyu because it was reminiscent to a show called Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero. The shows both have a human hero and a female, busty demon lord. The only difference is that I see that Maoyu is more serious in story and romance and less ecchi than Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero.

BD and OVA

I don't have much since I don't know most of these shows. I say Sket Dance is my number one since it was one of my most favorite and funniest slice of show I ever watch. I was sad a bit when the anime ended early, but they will have a third season because it's a strong series with an ongoing manga. Blue Exorcist is a movie I'm looking forward to watch. The anime is bit short since it caught to the manga, so I'm curious about the movie and how it correlates with the franchise.

Special thanks to Acura Max and Shels for helping Taka and BigHeart711 post the trailers.

Good guide. Unfortunately this looks like another anime season that's not for me. I'll check out Bakumatsu , but my intitial impression is that it will get unenjoyable real fast. Hoping I will have a new show to stick with this season or else I will be sticking with the classics.

shelson Jan. 23, 2013 at 1:46 p.m.

I'm just watching chihayafuru and minami-ke, it's well known that winter and summer are slower season so i'll just gonna take the time to catch on some older series.

PS. noticed a small mistake The Berserk 2nd and 3rd films title are the same.

@shels:

It's my fault. I was rushing to complete the tables. Thanks for pointing it out. I wish I can fix it.

Marshal Victoryon Jan. 23, 2013 at 5:10 p.m.

Already expressed my disapointment with this season in blog post. But curent anime im following from new season is.

Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman : Surprise hit with me.

Courtesy of Zettai Karen Children - The Unlimited - Hyobu Kyosuke : darker tone than what it spined off from.Good stuff.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT : starting a little off from 1st season but watachable.

Hakkenden: The Strange Tale of Eight Dogs of the East : at episode 3 its on the bubble for me of not watching.

Kotoura-san : not bad not great,

Maoyu : i like it .

Mondaiji Tachi Ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu Yo? : Eh not bad not great..

Sasami-san@Ganbaranai : Oddly good enuff. Animation is great to awsome.Tho i find some back ground colors to be lazy.It may have a story /shrug dont care atm if it does.Watdchable just for animation alone.

Senran Kagura : almsot stoped at 1 but it got bit better.still on buble even ecchi wount save it.

So yeah this season is less an already thined an will be thined again.Proably by time spring 2013 these 9 probly will be 5 left.Worse yet this season has more shows i am indifrent to out an out hated.

I'm so glad Sket Dance is coming back!!!

I'm into Maoyu, Senyu, and Problem Children.

  • Maoyu - I thought it was like Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero when I saw a dashing young, human hero and a bodacious demon queen. (well, Miu is technically a demon princess, but they both share nobility and big boobs.) Though, everyone told me it was like Spice and Wolf (another show I haven't tried yet). I do see the similarities.
  • Senyu - Even though it's short, it's entertaining. I see a lot of a damn parodies especially that Cloud look alike.
  • Problem Children - I got curious about it.

Shows I dropped

  • Amnesia - I wanted to see if this reverse harem show is better than the ones I watch, but the main heroine is so plain and the male characters don't stand out from each other. If you compared this show to La Storia della Arcana Famiglia. In that show, you can see how distinguished the characters are. Felicita had some spunk in her which I like.
