Bleach #511 - Die Standing
In a Nutshell
Yamyam bites the dust (although people have "died" before and come back like it was little more than a tummy ache) and Juha Bach calls in his remaining forces to finish off the shinigami and prepare for the arrival of the Royal Guard.
High Points
- Ding dong the witch is dead.
- Things seem to be getting real.
- The Royal Guard is coming?!?!?!?.
Low Points
- No more talk of Aizen.
- Lame flashback.
Rants and Raves
Last week's chapters brought up the possibility of my favorite character coming back and this one was matched by my most hated character biting the dust like the loser he is. Despite knowing that people have been bisected before and survived like nothing happened and that one character is essentially infinite use Dragon Balls when it comes to injuries, things seem to be getting real in Bleach. I can't wait to see what happens next, whether it be the Royal Guard or Ishida with some ridiculous Ichigo-level power ups. Personally, I'm hoping it's all of that and the return of my 2nd favorite character: Hollow Ichigo.
Grade
A. I've never really liked the Bleach manga and I've always read it solely because I'm a glutton for anime spoilers and later because I'd gotten used to reading it and it would feel weird to not read it. These last two chapters have been awesome though.
William Taylor holds Bleach deeply in his heart, but when he thinks about it, it makes him want to fart. Unlock the mystery on Twitter @mrsickvisionz.

Hollow Ichigo is my favorite character. He was the one that always got stuff done after Ichigo screwed up and died (or got close to death).
It's the same reason why the fox is my favorite Naruto character, well, maybe second favorite after Gaara.
Huh, it feel strange to enjoy a Bleach chapter. (I do hope they keep it up)

I haven't felt that way since the beginning of the fullbring arc. also, considering how weird kubo can get, I wouldn't be surprised if somehow Ichigo's mother is in the Zero Squad.
Only having seen the anime I am not sure why people hate the head captain so much but what ever. Story will end with Ichigo runing the soul society which will be cool.
@zaldar: If you count filler and movies then he...
Yamyam is a loser. He's done nothing good and the army he leads has led Soul Society to near ruin multiple times. On top of that, his only feats are the brutal murder a mentally challenged Arrancar (what a noble leader) and attempt to decimate the few survivors of his many genocide campaigns.
@sickVisionz: Well said!
@sickVisionz: It makes you wonder he he was this before with that bankai why the hell did he trap Aizen into a cage of flames when they encountered him in the fake Kurakura Town. He could have ended all three of the Top Espada (one of them being my favorite character Starrk) defeated Wonderweiss, and killed Aizen, Gin, and Tousen without unnecessary injury.
Also you are forgetting:
It makes you wonder what Juha said about the Gotei 13 in the beginning were nothing but violent brutes and murderers.
@Lobos_Del_Rayo: As we just saw against Bach, Yamamoto's power isn't much good if he can't use it against his target. That was the case against Aizen as well, since he had seen Aizen's blade and was susceptible to its illusion. A better question might be why he thought entrapping Aizen would work either (it didn't).
@AgentJ: Good point Aizen is the broken overpowered King so I doubt even if Yam didn't see his zanpakuto I doubt his bankai would beat him. I guess he thought he could trap Aizen then he wouldn't enter the battle or something. :P
Still if he had all this power it would have been nice if he would have stepped into some of the more important battles before countless people were seriously injured.
Pop Question: Aizen's zanpakuto is already incredible power what could his bankai possibly be to top that?
@Lobos_Del_Rayo: not so much anymore after Ichigo gets deux eh machina powers
@Lobos_Del_Rayo: Perhaps he never had a Bankai. After all, he was able to present an illusion of a different Shikai, and he would have no need for a Bankai with how powerful his Shikai was, or perhaps he thought.
@AgentJ: You know that would make sense he fooled the entire Gotei 13 into thinking he was dead and then fooled them into thinking Momo was him. He could have easily tricked them into believing he had a bankai. But that's kinda lame I rather he have one just because it would so disgustingly powerful
