ONE PIECE Ch. 676: The Perfected Weapon of Mass Destruction
The living weapon Caesar Clown affectionately calls Smiley has finally been perfected, weapon brokers from all over the New World are watching the demonstration, and Zoro, Sanji, and Brook are in the path of the deadly vapor cloud that's chasing them down. To prove the power of this weapon to his buyers, Caesar is going to throw Luffy, Trafalgar Law, Smoker, and the others out to die.
The Good
What do you come to entertainment for but to be entertained? Whether it be in drama, comedy, suspense, or action. This chapter had it all. You get action in Zoro and the gang running for their lives like a set of Looney Toons, comedy in Luffy's reactions while everyone's so serious, drama in witnessing the effects of this completed bio-weapon, and the suspense from that cliffhanger that Law has his counterattack ready to go.
I'm still left with some questions, but that's a good thing. The biggest one was who threw that note toChopper to stay put and not try to save anyone. The list of people in the room is limited, providing there isn't some invisible person hiding in plain sight. My best guess would be Monet. She's been the hardest person to read this whole arc.
The Bad
The only real downside to the chapter would have to be in watching the bio-weapon making short work of the nameless henchmen. Not that it's a bad thing, becasue we need someone to show us what this thing was designed to do. It sells it as a legitimate threat. You just know that none of these unfortunate guinea pigs will actually die. This is not a series with a high red shirt count.

Last week's chapter fell kind of flat, but this one made up for it in spades. The biggest shock of them all has to be the short reveal of the fruit in that sled. Am I crazy, or did that apple 'change' into a devil fruit? Could this been some bizarre side effect of this Smiley evolution? I look forward to Oda coming back to that. Could someone be getting powers by the end of this arc?
The past few chapters Law has been the coolest guy around. Even when it seems they are being set up to die, he's ready to put his counter attack into effect. It honestly seems as if Act. 2 of the Punk Hazard story arc has come to a close, and Act. 3 is just around the corner. Those are always so satisfying in ONE PIECE.

I don't think the fruit changed, it was just painted, probably to keep the grunts in the dark. I think the change in smiley might have to do with the fact that he is only alive because of a fruit, so the effects of having two don't kill him.
I believe that Smiley die doing his transformation to Shinokuni, since CC said "Good Work, Smiley! Let Us Meet Again." Implying that Smiley have die and the power went to the nearest fruit and change it to a Devil Fruit
