Inuyasha, Tiger & Bunny, Del Rey Manga... and more!

VIZ Releases Inuyasha and Inuyasha: The Final Act

VIZ Media previously streamed an English subbed version of Inuyasha: The Final Act (or is it InuYasha?) but now the company is ready to bring it to the next level. As part of Neon Alley's new service, Inuyasha: The Final Act has begun to be streamed in dubbed form this past Oct. 2. The trailer to this dubbed version of the series is below for you to watch.

Along with that, VIZ will begin reissuing the original Inuyasha series on DVD as of Nov. 6. The standard and deluxe box sets will be cheaper for our convenience. The first standard DVD set contains the first 27 episodes on five discs and will retail for $24.98. Originally $49.95 in 2009.

Second Tiger & Bunny Movie Announced

Tiger & Bunny: The Rising Teaser Poster
Tiger & Bunny: The Rising Teaser Poster

The first Tiger & Bunny movie was just released not too long and we already have information about the franchise's second movie.

The first movie, Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning, premiered on Sept. 22 and made over 117.65 million yen (about 1.51 million US dollars). With an audience of over 48,000 people across Japan the movie ranked #5 for box office earnings for the opening weekend. With those kind of positive stats it's no wonder that a second movie will be hitting theaters next year.

The franchise's second movie will be titled Tiger & Bunny: The Rising and will hit theaters Fall 2013. Are you excited for the announcement of this second movie?

Former Del Rey Manga Titles To Be Continued By JManga

JManga.com is an online service that puts its efforts into making manga as accessible as possible for readers worldwide legally. When asked about the Del Rey Manga titles once published in North America the website responded:

JManga and Kodansha are working together to digitally release all volumes from each series that were originally available in print and continue each series by releasing all previously unavailable volumes.

Does this include X-Men: Misfits?! (Probably not.)

Anime Doctor iPhone App: The Largest Mobile Anime Encyclopedia

Pulled Strings Software presents it's latest free iPhone app: Anime Doctor. What's it do? Well the title explains it all. The app is being called "the largest mobile anime encyclopedia".

Here's an excerpt the press release:

From the moment that Anime Doctor(TM) is launched on a device, you will find a stunning collection of featured anime covers that are each hand-selected by the Pulled Strings(TM) team and updated regularly. Every anime title that is browsed has a radiantly rendered cover photo, a graphical 1 to 5 star average rating, and a “more information” button beneath it–and when this button is touched–the page elegantly peels back to reveal the details of your selected anime–such as alternative titles, anime type, year of the Anime, official website, series description, and much more! Anime Doctor(TM) is also integrated with Twitter in three languages, making it simple for users globally to tweet about anything new that they may have learned about a particular anime title.

Check out the source link below to read the app's features, requirements and more. Below are some screenshots of the app:

The "Anime Doctor" app sounds ridiculous at first until what it does was explained. It sounds like a good grab, but I don't have an iPhone yet. :(

Also, I'm a bit surprised that you missed Anime Network's streaming fiasco with To Love-Ru Darkness. (Also mentioned via ANN) What made it a bigger issue was because AN still didn't comment on the matter yet. Either it had too much jiggle for them (even though I presume that it was the censored-for-regular-TV version), a mishap with the Japanese timeslot or something else.

The original InuYasha box sets were actually reduced in price a couple of weeks ago on Amazon, then they went back up and are now at a very cheap 21$.

I'm thinking that this might only be worth it if it came in Blu-Ray box sets.

I never heard of Jmanga.com. I love the idea that they are publishing manga online. It should help combat piracy to a certain extent and encourage folks that there is a cheaper way to support their favorite manga series.

I know it's expensive to buy manga. I remember spending 80 dollars or so on 9 volumes or so plus shipping. I think shipping is more than tax, but I have to go back and calculate.

Anime Doctor sounds very useful especially for the wiki pages. I hope it covers obscure manga and anime. It's tough to find Kanji and Romaji for obscure series.
