Try not to be surprised that this war is continuing to trudge on with little sign of an end. Oh yeah, and Obito is still complaining about something.
The only real positive I took out of this was Kakashi's call back to something he talked about way back in Volume 2. I always admired his speech about ninjas who violate the rules being trash, but abandoning one's friends makes you lower than that.
They said it couldn't be done. For as much as I was surprised to find myself rooting for Bellamy in ONE PIECE. I'm not equally shocked that I've found a villain I hate more that Aizen. Aizen was annoying becasue he was just such a broken character. Even his defeat seemed to go his way. However, the constant repetition I hear from Obito has launched himself into the stratosphere as my most hated villain. You know how you try tuning out the whining child when you're in the mall. That's what I'm experiencing with him.
It was bad enough when the Moon's Eye Plan was revealed to be little more than a rip-off of the Human Instrumentality Project. I could never blame a single person who was to drop reading NARUTO after the reveal of Obito and his motivations. Who wants to discover that the major antagonist of the entire series is little more than some man-boy? I'm not intimidated by him, and the only thing I'm scared about is that he's going to keep talking.
If you had just removed all the senseless back and forth of Emo-bito and Kakashi from this chapter, this could have been easily a 3 out of 5. It had the art, it had the action, and it had a nice closing moment. I am just sick of Obito and his incessant whining. He alone is dragging down my enjoyment of this entire series.
