Romance is never something that's incredibly well developed in the shonen genre. It always amazed me how Goku, a guy why originally thought marriage was a kind of food, would manage to father two children. Still, every now and again you'll find a blossoming flower that sprouts out of nowhere can can really be touching. That's what I got out of this latest NARUTO chapter. As Obito tries to shame Naruto with all the death surrounding him. It's Hinata of all people who smacks some sense into him -- literally. Good for her in finally taking a solid stand, looking him in the eye, and speaking her feelings.
Things were a tiny bit too kum-ba-yah for my tastes as even Kurama joined into the chorus, but that's a minor critique. These recent deaths have really made an impact on the story and characters, and that's the way it should be. I'm just concerned that pulling back on these events will undermine the enjoyable drama they're creating.
Things seemed to move a bit fast in this chapter, but it's still well paced. Just felt a bit awkward to have all these explosions surrounding a scene of heartfelt drama. It was still incredibly enjoyable and fun read. I hope that Hinata just doesn't fade back into the shadows after such an admirable stand.
