In a Nutshell
Naruto and friends continue their attack against Tobi and find success by utilizing Kakashi's Kamui.
High Points
- Some epic shots of Tobi facing off against his opponents.
- Kakashi seems to have leveled up his understanding of Kamui.
Low Points
- This chapter is basically identical to the previous one.
Rants and Raves
I'm always impressed at how the illustrator is able to portray Tobi's emotions despite the fact that you can't see any of his face. I haven't gone back and analyzed all of the frames to spot differences, but if this was a live-action production, I magine that the blu-ray would have a behind-the-scenes segment with the prop department where someone is standing in front of a table of 8 subtly different Tobi masks saying, "this is Tobi's angy face," and, "this is his shocked oh noes?!?!?!? face." I also thought it was cool that Kakashi seems to have figured out Tobi's iconic jutsus and has imitated them using Kamui, or perhaps Tobi was using Kamui all of this time and after watching him, Kakashi now understands the technique.
One crazy thing though is that Kakashi is now this chakra tank that can battle all day long and shoot off Kamui left and right with no fear of running out of chakra. For a while, he and Shikamaru were the only ninjas that let you know that there were physical limitations to what even the smartest or most talented ninja could do. Everyone else in the series had seemingly infinite chakra reserves that they could pull from but these two always had to get in and get out before it was too late. I always liked that about them because it made their fights more urgent and they always had to be incredibly strategic so that they didn't waste any of their chakra. It's a little unfortunate to see Kakashi no longer have to worry about that, but at the same time it's pretty awesome that he has effectively infinite chakra like everyone else now.
Grade
This chapter is a solid B- for me. I would rate this higher if chapter 595 didn't exist, but it gets a lower score for essentially being the same exact thing until the last two or three pages.
Notes
Sorry about the delay on this one. I planned on having this written on Wednesday of last week, but I decided to wait until Bleach came out. It wasn't until Friday that I read online that Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach, is ill and Shonen Jump had announced that the series will be on hold until 8/20. At that point, I decided to just wait a week and do a two in one article about Naruto 596 (this one) and 597... but now it's Thursday and there's no sign that Naruto 597 is coming out this week.

The last time Kakashi tried to use this technique didn't he almost die? Or was he almost dead and decided to use the technique?
Either way, chakra limits only matter when they are convenient to plot.
@Lurkero: I guess you are talking about the fight against Pain. That time he was dying when he used it, he sacrificed himself by using it, spending all the chakra he had left.
