The greatest vulnerability of the Quincy has been revealed thanks to the efforts of one enigmatic genius.
If there was something that always irritated by about Uryu, it was his unjustifiable sense of arrogance and superiority. Originally, I thought that just happened to be his personality. Seems it's something shared among the Quincy. The Vandenreich's plan to have the Captains only to be killed by their own bankai is a risky move. It's not surprising it comes back to bite them.
Leave it up to good ol' Kisuke to find the biggest vulnerability of the Quincy and put it to his advantage. The Quincy don't just hate the Hollows because they're murderous, soul eating monsters. They're poison to them. This revelation also nicely clears up an issue I had with Masaki's wound during the flashback portion a little ways back.
I hesitate to really call this a positive, but there was something about that scene of Matsumoto in this chapter that shocked me. At first, I was certain she's still alive. That was up until I remembered this is the finale. There is every possible chance that she could be killed here. I would hate for her to have such an end, but that possibility give me a cold chill down my spine. I'm actually worried about her fate.
This was a pretty chatty issue where not a great deal happened. It's not that Urahara and Kurotsuchi's dialog wasn't entertaining and informative. I just would have liked a bit more show and a little less tell.
For as little that happened this chapter, this was still pretty entertaining. I think that has a lot to do with the personalities at hand. Urahara and Kurotsuchi are rather unique characters that seem to play well off one another. One of the best parts is how the chapter closes up. It's been a while that we really end on a real high tone for the good guys. I'm very much excited to see where this goes next.
