As we pass the second box office weekend, Astro Boy has bumped up another 3 million in ticket sales. $3,035,000, to be exact (for an estimate based on Box Office Mojo,) bringing the film up to $10,891,000 (3,020 screens, $1,005 per screen.) While this is still considerably below the $65 million the film cost, I remain optimistic. Further comparative stats of second week box offices compiled by ANN.

Ponyo (2009) earned US$2,425,644 in 927 theaters (US$2,617 average),
