It appears as if not everyone in Japan is down with the proposed legislation that will censor any depiction of a character who looks younger than 18 and acts in a sexually provocative manner. A group of manga creators have held their own press conference on Monday to fight agains this very law, including such manga creators as Tesuya Chiba (
Ashita no Joe) and Machiko Satonaka (Lady Ann). They then presented the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly with a written statement of their disgust, which was signed by many other creators. Here is the full list of creators who have signed this statement:

Now Hideki Egami, the editor of Ikki manga magazine has asked all those who oppose the legislation and where unable to sign this statement to voice their opinion on twitter. This then opened the flood gates to more and more artists from all around Japan to voice their opinion on the subject matter. It appears as if things are not looking good for the pro loli ban side; but you never know. I’m glad that finally people are standing up to this great injustice.

And the pro-ban side gets a swift kick to the butt from Japan's major manga artists and publishers.
I guess they can try, but will the ban mean anything unless they place it on printed media, video games, television, advertisements, and the internet? They can borrow the "Great Firewall of China" for all the good that will do them, effectively and from a PR standpoint.
Rather childish IMO.
So happy to see Gosho Aoyama and Ken Akamatsu in that list. It's just, where is Eiichiro Oda??!
to be fair in japan it will mosty result in econmic collapse or a large loss from an economic standpoint
Now, if the heads of the major PUBLISHING HOUSES showed up to this fight, then I'd hold a little more hope.
