As many of you know, I work remote for Anime Vice. The news of Whiskey Media's sale last week happened to come just I was going down to Anaheim to be a guest at WonderCon, so the delay of this announcement's due to a simple matter of unfortunate timing.
For now, I've been asked to let you all know that a long-term plan's being worked on. More will be revealed soon. For the time being, you can expect a slate of articles and features coming this week.

Nice to hear that there is a plan. I was wondering what was going to happen.
Ooh, cryptic. Intriguing. Exciting, even.
Thanks for letting us know, Tom.
Looking forward to it, hope it's great news.
While it would have been nice to hear something a few days ago from staff. It's nice to finally be hearing something. No matter how small. I have a lot of love for the users on Anime Vice. I would have hated to see all their hard work be destroyed.
If you needed a graphic. I would have been happy to make one for you. All you need is to ask.
Not quite sure what to expect, but the fact that long-term plans are being worked on sounds promising. Thanks for the update Tom.
....
Buh I onie jus got here.
Dammit! I already miss whiskey media so much. When that logo isn't on the bottom of the page anymore I think I'm going to die. So many users pour their hearts and souls into at least one of the websites, and now with the websites being all split up I feel... I'm just so depressed. At least anime vice might get some more attention :D
"Long-term" is something I am glad to hear. I have a lot of content being prepared and I'm not ready to move it elsewhere and I like the community.
Plan? Long-term? What insanity is this?
Good to hear, I guess it's safe to assume it will be good news sense "are long term plan is to unplug the set" would be just weird! :D
Sure hope this is good news. Anime Vice was so great when it first opened up and then it just kind of languished out there in internet hell for a while. Don't get me wrong. the community is still great, and I appreciate everything that Tom and other contributors have done, but, there really needs to be a bigger, full time team for this site. I want the Anime Vice podcast back dammit! Anyway, hoping things move in a positive direction.
.....Oh-ho!
Thank you for at least acknowledging this community's anxiety after being left completely in the dark, however I'm am still not relieved to hear that "long term plans" are formulated. First of all, that really doesn't tell me anything about the site's future. Will it remain an anime site? Will it encompass other subjects? Will there be more staff? Second, it also suggests that there was no initial plan from BermanBraun to begin with. What to do with Anime Vice is an afterthought. I don't find that notion comforting.
Still, I am trying not to be a complete pessimist about the whole thing since I still love popping onto this site to write up or reply to some topic about anime. I'm not as productive as I once was here, but I do enjoy participating in my own small way these days.
I am looking forward to hear what is in store for AV.
Can't wait to see what plans you guys are doing.
Good to know that there is a plan. Thanks for the update, Tom!
I wasn't sure about Anime Vice considering its low place on the Whiskey pole. It is encouraging to hear there is a long term plan. Whether it works out is yet to be seen, however.
I am extremely glad to know that Anime Vice has not been forgotten, and I look forward to hearing the details.
Hope everything goes well, man.
