Judging from the comments on the Gurren Lagann films' screening announcement the other day, it seems like a lot of you guys can't make it to San Francisco to see the New People center whenever you feel like it. This video is for you guys! (And anyone else who's interested in the Yokai University exhibit that's currently taking place there.)

It was a really cool, low-key exhibit tucked into the VIZ Cinema lobby in the bottom floor of the New People center, with some really cool images of various yokai. Anime fans tend to be most familiar with the term as it relates to InuYasha, whose titular character is half-yokai. They're most commonly referred to as "demons" here, along the lines of a succubus, goblins, imps, and the like in western stories. (By contrast, "oni" tend to be more of a "monster," generally like ogres.)

It was a really cool exhibit-- as you'll see in the video! We didn't capture quite everything, of course, but I think you'll enjoy it.

  So! What do you think?

Cool i wish i could be there i <3 yokai and monsters i even made a RP/FF character which is raised by them but right now i`m kinda lazy i have yet to add any other yokai to the story which is mostly because i was searching for  yokai which don`t get much attention from the media and having that Yokai handbook didn`t really help.
@gia: By now i already saw the two movies on dvd but i still feel dumb for not knowing back then, again sorry  not reading thingie :)

@FLStyle: Sorry. I was totally fantasizing about having wheels for my tripod to use it like a dolly for a better shot, but alas!  Maybe next time I can bring the big guns (read: Drew, Vinny, and the big cameras). :)
