This is only the first of many to come, and one should be expected once a week (taking in consideration certain holidays). Content doesn't have to just be informative. It can also be stuff that's just really funny.
Wonderful World of Wikis
A special note should go to member Obsidian609 for being the top wiki point earner on Anime Vice (currently at over 357K points), and took on the daunting task for making profiles for every different breed of Pokemon. Another honorable mention for this first Spotlight goes to EganTheVile1 for his work the old school Voltron and Transformers series. Following are a list of wiki pages with impressive amount of information.- Goku
- Rice Cakes
- Knightmare Frames
- Ikaros
- Kakashi Hatake
- Setting Off! From Futaba Town to Masago Town!!
- Naruto Shippuden
- Ichigo Kurosaki
- Sayonara, Zetsunbou- Sensei Vol. 1
Reviewed Wonders
Writing reviews is one of my favorite hobbies on Anime Vice, but I'm not the only one. Several users really seem to enjoy showing off their opinions as well. If you'd enjoy being listed among these users. Go write a review that impresses the community and get it displayed for the Spotlight.- Check out BurstAngel's review of Spirited Away
- Check out AK_the_Twilight's review of The Diet Syndrome / High School Nudical
- Check out Dream's review of Gunslinger Girl II Teatrino
- Check out damswedon's review of Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (My Sister Can't Be This Cute)
- Check out metalsnakezero's review of Strike Witches 2
Lovable Lists
Users love to make their lists and at times they can be pretty informative. Though, many are just about lists of peoples' favorite "hot girls". Here, I want to spotlight some more unique and helpful lists.- I'm new to anime, what should I watch (by: DocHaus)
- Characters To Avoid Being Stuck In an Elevator With (by: Bigheart711)
- Anime Titles I want Licensed (by: Dream)
Blog-o-sphere
To start things off I'll show you some examples of the kind of posts that are pretty impressive. Staff member Ethan put together a full FAQ guide for just about any questions you may have on Anime Vice and it's tools. Mod sickVisionz is trying to organize members on his project to over come One Piece's domination of the wiki pages due to the actions of a single, eccentric user. (I wonder who that could be? he,he) If you enjoy Naruto and BLEACH, you should sign up for his task. Also, a while back. I wrote a detailed blog post giving tips on how to fill out a wiki page for an anime episode. Some users even wrote posts with really useful news. Anime Vice does not lack for some really good blogs.- Animevice FAQ - wiki, forums, mods (by: ethan)
- One Piece is kicking our wiki ass...it's time to step up (by: sickVisionz)
- A Guide to the Anime Profile (by: FoxxFireArt)
- Super Duper Mini Review - Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo! (by: JJOR64)
- It's Anime! (by: Kazzoi)
- The Wait is Over!!! (by: soyfan)
- The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya & Nyoron! Now on Sale! (by: sora_thekey)
Formidable Forums
Not many users make something just a forum. Most often it's also posted as a blog, but that's what makes good forum posts so valuable. We really need some good forum posts for this Spotlight feature. Keep them coming.- Poll - What's your favorite hair colour on an anime girl? (by: Newten)
- Podcast - AlphaVictor #3: The One With The Giant Robots (by: DocHaus)
- Crunchyroll Ranks Fall 2010 Simulcasts by Popularity (by: SpikeValantine)
If you have seen a wiki page, blog post, or user review you find note worthy for the spotlight. Have you worked on something special on Anime Vice? Tell me about it in a PM. Just be sure to put "Community Spotlight" in the subject line.

Also, Episode #4 of the AV-cast shall be uploaded very soon...
Hmm, wonder if I could come up with some snazzy header images for next week's article...
But still great to see a new feature.
Send me a PM when it is.
So, does anyone like my remake version of the Anime Vice logo? It's a little sloppy. If anyone is curious. That Japanese says "koukyou no supottoraito".
@DocHaus:
I'd say PM me about it so I can bring it up next week, but looks as if Ethan already asked you about this.
@zombiepie:
Thanks, I've been writing a lot of articles this week for Anime Vice.
My format was a mixture of your Giant Bomb and Inferiorego's Comic Vine version. Just with my own twist.
I certainly hope more users get involved.
Only downside of being the writer for this is that I really shouldn't display my own works. I did show off two of my works in the wiki and a blog.
@Newten:
I made a picture for them to use in the header. I really have no idea what so ever as to why they used my stylized self illustration for this segment on the site. I don't care that they did. It's nice. It just seems to imply this is about me and not the community.
I also formatted the article header so I can replace the background image. Each week I plan to make something different.
@FoxxFireArt:
If I wrote something like this I'd probably include some of my work, too. For the background picture I'm the redhead (or so I think)! And for the AV logo I think the Rising Sun effect is a nice, detailed touch. I think this is another cool addition to the site and will hopefully draw in new users and current users will become more involved.
Thanks for this Ethan this is a great post!
(Biased - I'm in that list!)
I sure hope more users start posting content.
@Newten:
Oh, I see your meaning. I don't think that would be necessary. I'm not planning on covering as many topics in every single post. It depends on the amount of user content.
@buhssuht:
Thanks. I was rather proud of that page.

Technically, aren't all the sites community run as far as wiki and blogs?
Uh, I wrote all of this article. I don't think Ethan would refer to himself in the first person, as it says in the "Blog-o-sphere" section.
G1 is the shit! Since I'm like a young buck I watched the whole thing on YouTube a couple years back. My first Transformers experience was the animated movie (which was epic!).
