Anime Overload: Kara no Kyoukai, Working, Sekirei

A few new anime projects in the works...

Working!!

So, let's see...first off, it's been announced that some kind of anime epilogue to the Kara no Kyoukai films is going to be made, based on the original novel series' epilogue, although it's unclear if it will be an additional film, an OVA series, or what. (TV seems unlikely.) [ Via Moetron.]

Meanwhile, the manga Working!!, a 4koma gag comic strip about a guy who starts working at a family restaurant, has been green-lit for an anime. I took a look around at some of the manga and it's got kind of a cool, slightly older-fashioned feel to it, like some of Rumiko Takahash'is older works perhaps. Definitely looks like fun! [ Via Moon Phase.]

And for some reason I can't even begin to comprehend, fanservice comedy Sekirei is getting a second season tittied-- er, sorry –TITLED Sekirei ~Pure Engagement~. Okay, actually, I do get why they're giving it a second season, but I can't say it peaks my interest...I like fanservice as much as the nxt pervert, but there needs to be more than just that to draw me to a show. [ Via Moon Phase.]

Arakawa Under the Bridge is another upcoming anime adaptation, based on another gag manga. It follows the story of a man who, in spite of never having any debts in his life (personal or financial), finds himself with a huge debt to a girl named Rino when she saves his life. Rino, however, lives under a bridge and thinks she's an alien, so the man follows her...[ Via Moon Phase Diary.]

Honestly, as someone constantly seeking what's “new,” I'm a bit more interested in Working!! and Arakawa than in either of the two follow-ups...but I know a lot of you will be thrilled for more Kara no Kyoukai, at least.

For that Kara no Kyoukai epilogue, it could be referring to "Mirai Fukuin" (Recalled Out Summer), quite possibly. I'm looking forward to it, whatever it is. It's Kara no Kyoukai and I'm there.

That's cool that there will be the epilogue animated to KnK and I suspect that will be the last ova/movie to come out of it.

I love Type Moon, so I need to get going on the Kara no Kyoukai bunch. Anyone think they'll be coming stateside within the next year or so, or should I go find it?

Somehow I knew awesome news like this would happen when I had no internet for a week...

Dig Deeper into Kara no Kyoukai

A light novel series and movie series originally written by Nasu Kinoko, the story follows a girl with few emotions named Shiki Ryōgi as her and her equally strange colleagues deal with supernatural phenomena across town.
