I disagree with the mana criticism though. It's basically stamina or health. A character's stamina, health or mana is always going to deplete when the plot deems that they need to be beaten. I might be forgetting some huge terrible moment, but I can't remember when this was really a major issue in Fate/Zero.
The only thing that Cuticle Detective Inaba's taught me is that cuticles are not just on your fingers.
Also, Tom, you have watched this season's short episode shows, but what about the previous season, where we had things like Teekyu?
I think my most dislike trope was wimpy protagonists when I watch Guilty Crown. The show makes it hard to not hate the characters. I tried Btooom and Sword Art Online. They're not that bad.

Remember how Shu freak out and ran away during that one mission? Makes me want to slap the guy.
I forgot about Senyu. It's my favorite short series. Mangirl and Ishida to Asakura didn't do it well for me.
