Anime Goes Green in Japan

The Association of Japan Animations and the Seibu Railroad are joining forces to save the environment...with anime!

The Association of Japan Animations is teaming up with the Seibu Railroad to save the environment-- using anime characters, of course. The group has already been working with celebrities, such as Craig Brazell, an American baseball player for the Saitama Seibu Lions.

Apparently the AJA will be handling the publication of a 16-page B5 magazine titled Anikko Anime&Eco. It looks like at the very least Keroro Gunsou/Sgt. Frog will be among the characters used; he'll introduce the magazine in its first issue. He'll also be using the railroad, to provide some publicity for the Seibu Railroad, whose contribution to the project appears to be funding since the AJA is doing all the publishing-- although the magazine will be available at every stop on the Seibu line for the children.

But the hardcore fans aren't being left out: the magazine will also be distributed at the Tokyo Anime Center and the Suginami Animation Museum, just for us. I mean them.

He'd have to get a new haircut first.

He'd just have to dye it blue. Gotta have the blue hair.
