Otaku around the US, dig yourselves out of your subterranean villages and head to Anime Expo to see the man who created spiral power. For the director of Gurren Lagann, Hiroyuki Imaishi will be making his appearance, along with Gurren Lagann’s character designer Atsushi Nishigori at this year’s Anime Expo in Los Angeles. Not only did he direct Gurren Lagann, but key animation in FLCL episode 5, Dead Leaves, and Diebuster. He also is the winner of a bunch of awards like the Excellence Prize at the 2007 Japan Media Arts Festival for his work on Gurren Lagann.
Atsushi Nishigori has worked on such titles as Mahoromatic, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, He is my Master, and Diebuster. He also won an award as well, the 7th Annual Tokyo International Anime Awards, in the Individual Character Design Award category; and we all know the longer the award title is, the better.
Now we can finally ask him what is in store for the future of Gurren Lagann; a sequel, a prequel, Dayquil—who knows? This is what I like to see Anime Expo, keep up the good work grabbing these awesome people.

Aww wow. Very nice.
Maybe if we channel our spiral energy at wanting to be there, we can teleport there.
I am now even more excited to cosplay Simon.
