Anime Characters Now Exist in Real Life

Well, according to the Japanese Government they do.

One way to save the Japanese animation industry is to actually make the characters official residence of Japan, for you can’t kill the animation industry if the character’s are are actually living. Konata Izumi and the rest of her family will now be official residence of Satte, a city north of Tokyo. They are residents of Satte because that is where they live in the manga, and it is also where the creator Yoshimizu lived as well. She will be drawing a special certificate for this, which will be presented on January 3.

Konata isn’t the only one becoming an official resident, but the Tetsujin 28 is also becoming an official resident. But I’m not talking about the anime character, but the life-sized statue in Kobe. Mayor Tatsuo Yada will be presenting the statue with a certificate of residency on November 28.

So now that these anime characters are officially members of Japan, do they have to pay taxes?

I don't need to be a global citizen or have a nationality, i'm already part of a growing populous, we reinforce our popularity (actually most of the time the sides against us do that)

Finally, my dream can become true:  Konata can be my waifu!
If she's an official resident, than there's nothing the law could do to stop our government sanctioned marriage, right?

Yet, we're still talking about one of the most xenophobic countries, at least when it comes to immigrants.

What's next, I think they'll give citizenship to robots before they start openly welcoming in others.
