Alphard Makes a Statement: "I'm Awesome"

You know, I have pretty much zero interest in Canaan. I've heard mixed reviews, and I still hold the hours I wasted on the first eight or so episodes of Fate/Stay Night against Type-Moon. (Yes, I know, I shouldn't, but I can't help it!)

And yet somehow the series seems to have acquired some of the best figures I have seen in the last year or so. First there was the titular Canaan, also shown above, right in an action shot, gun out, and she looks amazing. Not overly sexualized but still hot, beautifully rendered but not ridiculously's really just a matter of whether that figure stays up solidly.

Now the Good Smile Company Mikatan blog is offering up photos of a second figure from the show, this time of Alphard-- but with what is undisputedly a similar level of awesome. Amazing pose, gorgeous design, absolutely amazing facial expression-- you name it! Preorders will open up on October 20th, so I think you'll have to wait until then for pricing and release date info...but more pictures will pop up, too, so yay!
Okay, let's hear it: do you dig this figure?

The figure is alright. I HATE the Canaan anime it was one of the biggest wastes of my time ever for a 13 episode series.

Canaan kicked ass , but watching is better than displaying for me

I have the exact same sentiments as Void.
It is the first series that has stolen the Type Moon trademark and been absolutely horrible (if Nasu didn't ACTUALLY write the story - giving pointers doesn't count - then it's not real Type Moon). I mean, jeez... to be worse than the Tsukihime anime... that takes effort.
Once again Gia, if you want to know what Type Moon is capable of without touching any of the games, the only truly good example is Kara no Kyoukai.

Wait... you didn't like Fate/Stay Night?... I'm not sure we can even be friends anymore. ^_~

I actually liked the Canaan anime. Yes, some of the story was a bit muddy as to the origins of different characters, but the action scenes were amazing.
As for the action figures pictured above, they do look pretty cool, but then again I don't really spend money on those things anymore so...yeah.

Dig Deeper into Figures

A popular merchandise type in Japan is the "figure", which can be an action figure or a still figure, generally of an anime or manga character (although there are any number of original designs as well).
