Meet HINA, the world's smallest coffee maker. If you haven't started watching the video already, do so, because it'll brighten your soul, it certainly did for me. My one big hope (besides mass production) is that successive versions of HINA actually have a built in speaker, playing that serene music.
Danny Choo translated the robot's measurements for us:
Height: 36cm
Weight: 1.1kg
Servo: KRS-788x20, GWS-PICO-STDx1
Power Supply: 12 volt hobby robot battery or mains supply
Control Board: RCB-3J
Of course, none of that means anything to me. But, maybe, just maybe I've been approaching this whole "robot invasion" wrong. If all of those self aware, humanity enslaving robots were anywhere near as cute as HINA, I might just let it happen.

What I'm more interested in is how it the darn cute thing is program. Can it see the objects or dose it have specific placement. How the code runs. But that boring you all.
I just want on to make me coffee too.
She has some subroutines stored to make maneuvering easier, and the radio receiver and simple data storage are in the head.
The little cord 'tail' you see dangling is actually the connector for recharging the internal battery.

Methods utilizing infrared cameras however are probably truer to what real "sight" is though. Here's an example robot that uses an infrared camera and then uses a high contrast value to depict the outlines of a person's face: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUK2OT3cIcE
Also, apparently Hina can para para:
Awww....how cuuuute....
