There’s nothing like retooling a classic model with cutting-edge tech. You might be thinking about tricking out a ’78 Pontiac Firebird with a Blue Tooth and iPod jack, but I’m talking about the remakes of Nintendo’s eleven-year-old Pokemon Gold & Silver games here.

Odds are, you’ve heard of these already, but GamePro just released a detailed product review of both games - - just a month ahead of their American release dates. Rest easy if you were anxious about these being direct ports like the iPhone Final Fantasy remakes I talked about earlier this week. The Game Boy Advance versions of both games have been totally worked over to the DS’s strengths, making it feel as if they were designed specifically for stylus-driven gameplay.
There’s also the Pokewalker, a new feature that’s, quite literally, a game changer. The Pokeball-shaped gadget’s part-pedometer, part- Tamagotchi. It’ll allow you to carry your Pokemon out in the real world and unlock various mini-games commensurate to how many steps you take. One such mini-game is a battle mode that allows you to pick up new Pokemon on the way, effectively putting you in Ash Ketchum's shoes and letting you feel like you’re actually hunting Pokemon out in the wild.
If you’re a new player who’s never experienced Gold and Silver before, or a hard-core veteran who’s longed for these classics to catch up to today’s standards, HeartGold and SoulSilver look like they'll satisfy you more than a Snickers bar. Watch out for these re-tooled, re-vamped, re-surrected favorites on the 14th next month.

Anyway looking forward to these, Gold/Silver/Crystal were freaking awesome.
Those were on DS. Ruby, Sapphire, Emerlad, FireRed, and LeafGreen were the ones on GBA.
Gold/Silver/Crystal were on GBC...... :P
Too bad for me since I don't have a DS... but if you like these games then everybody should join me at the RPG Pokemon World Online Game I'm playing!
It's all the games put together that include all the pokemon!
Whoops, lol.
Cool
Alright, just to clear this up once and for all guys.
Pokemon Gold and Silver are Game Boy/Game Boy Color compatible.
Pokemon Crystal is Game Boy Color only.
Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed and LeafGreen are Game Boy Advance games.
Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeatGold and SoulSilver are Nintendo DS games.
Obviously though the GB and GBC games work on a GBA through backwards compatibility and likewise the GBA games work on the DS. So I suppose it can get a little confusing, especially when you're not really into the Pokemon games.
Great then i`m not the only one on the site who beat the game before it came out YAY!! x3
Oh gameboy history. *hugs his game gear*
