Unfortunately, some of those items are just so cool. So I thought I'd share five items on Etsy that I think the trademark owners should consider making an official version of.
#5: Final Fantasy Coasters
The coolest thing about this item? Instead of buying the full set of six, you get to “pick your party” and select any four. The least-cool thing about it? The price tag. $10 a coaster? Really?
#4: Kingdom Hearts Heartless Hat
I'm usually loathe to feature Yet Another Otaku Fleece Cap, because as cute as some of them are, there's like a bajillion different ones now. But this Heartless one is absolutely adorable. Also expensive-- $50 –but you can tell that the sewing is being done very carefully so it looks professional.
#3: SOS-dan Earrings
I am a sucker for earrings, a sucker for Haruhi and the SOS-dan, and a complete moron for merchandise I can use in my daily life. You may detect this as a theme in my choices, actually. Anyway, these are adorable and nicely done. And at $8 it feels like a steal compared to the rest!
#2: Hollow Death Note
Where better to hide your shinigami's apple stash than in a hollowed-out Death Note? And it's an idiot-free Death Note, too-- no pages = no place to write down the names of people you want dead. Score!
I never thought I'd be the least bit tempted to buy any kind of Naruto merchandise in my life. But this is actually kind of awesome.
