Persona 4: The Animation is an anime based upon the popular PlayStation 2 game. People are going missing in the rural-town of Inaba. A team of high school students discover a world within the TV that is linked to the murders.

This'll be the first (and probably only) anime I'll be watching. Even though I've played through P4 twice (3 times if you count the ER), I love the story a bunch.

So, is Charlie going to keep Izunagi throughout the whole season/series or will they dedicate an episode to him chilling out in the Velvet Room fusing?  Also, if he's the only one who can see the door and enter, how does the Investigation Team react whenever they're in the TV and he goes into the Velvet Room, thereby simply disappearing into thin air?  Finally, I REALLY hope that they at least put in the riddle quests just so Funky Student is in it.

My question, too.  I went with Yukiko, but Chie is really popular over on GB because of the Endurance Run.  I have a feeling that Rise is the most popular in Japan.  I suspect in the end, the guy will date all and none of them in the traditional harem style.  They'll all get to be close friends and develop a crush for the main protagonist, but nothing will progress beyond that.  Still, the anime will be positioned in the year to have a Christmas episode, so...

Rise would be my pick too...

Seeing as Naoto doesn't appear until later it looks like she's out for a relationship :( I always picked her out of the bunch even though I have no problem with Chie, Yukiko or Rise.

Megidola is the weakest almighty spell which supposedly deals 'heavy' damage. Heavy in this case being 50-100 dg. LOL....
Honestly, except Armageddon, none of the almighty spells are that useful. Take too much MP and also deal very low damage. Bad thing is that Armageddon doesn't exist in this game...

It seems funny that they are going to use game mechanics in the anime becuz Why the hell would anyone say not to cast Bufu unless they are using game mechanics here?

I don't like anime, but the game was incredible, can't wait for this. Hope there's english dubs.

I have high hopes for this show. If it does well, we should see it state side after so long. I hope they have certain episodes dedicated to major social link revalations that make the characters come to terms with their flaws. I wonder how they will portray MC and what kind of burdens he might have?

I did the same thing for each playthrough. Be interesting if they go into the relationship part and how they decide to handle it.

I've made several borderline-obsessive posts on this site proclaiming my love for subtitled versions of shows (mostly 80's shonen) and my dis-like of bad English dubs.

But I would totally give a Persona 4 anime dub a shot, especially if they got the game localisation crew on board!

That said, I'm sure the Japanese performances will be great.

Did anyone else hear about how they gave this version of the main character a different name? He was previously semi-canonically known as "Souji Seta" (taken from the manga version of P4, I believe), but it sounds like they've changed him to "Yu Narukami".

I wonder who he'll hook up with? ;)

EDIT: Of course, we're all secretly hoping that his dub name will be Charlie, right? :D

@PureRok: Indeed I haven't, but when I do I will enjoy the hell out of it, I have seen a bit of the Giantbomb Endurance Run for Persona 4, but I refuse to finish it and judging from your mini bio, we have very similar tastes.
 
I love J-poppy music, it just depends on my mood. In fact that soundtrack is very good in my opinion, but my personal favorite types of music range usually range from rock to heavy metal and all the silly sub genres in between or around that kind of music. 
 
No need to sound so pithy, some people get a bit touchy about things they are big fans of and, worst case scenario, flaming gets started. No big deal brah.

My question is whether he ever changes personas from Izanagi... I mean, the entire point of him being Zero is that he can change personas at will and get new, more powerful ones.

But then, I somewhat doubt they'd have him get izanagi, fuse him with something else 2 episodes later and never look back (as he damn well should : ) )

Perhaps they'll make it into something like Pokemon, where he gets new ones, but always has Izanagi in tow.

@selfconfessedcynic: I bet they'll have him use other personas in certain fights, like Jack Frost against Yukiko, but his main persona will be Izanagi.
