Though I think live action anime is mostly a bad idea, look what it does. It opens the doors for new fans who've never even heard of that anime, or watched anime in general to see a little and maybe research the origional source.
As fans we can't sit here and say NO it's not our call, it's just an opinion, it's the Japanese company's decision overall. In the end it may create new fans.
When asked about the DB movie, people who never watched the anime loved it. While those who had, hated it. Those who loved it may look into the origional and purchase the DVD's or watch DBZ: Kai. It's a double edge sword but the gamble may prove worth while in the end.

i hate live action versions of animes and manga. generally its because most of what hollywood churn out is crap. but even if the movie was made in japan and had the creators behind it i am still against it because like you say too much is cut out and simplified to make a watchable movie and this tends to ruin what was great about the anime in the beginning

Anime movies that are adaptations of a full season ... or two, or four ... of anime normally suffer many of the same problems. The ideal live action would be an extension of the canonical anime rather than a retelling of the same story.
But far more often, I read a novel, especially science fiction, and say, "man that could make a great anime". The anime series format simply fits even a medium length novel's scope better than a movie does.

it could work with correct use of 3D for the eva's/but real 3d,not intentionally throwing stuff to the screen.I mean 3d like me,so far the only live actions that have worked are death note and PGSM.
