Negima! has more to it than a cute kid surrounded by pretty women. Negi
has a goal he truly believes in - to one day become a master wizard like his father. He doesn’t have exact plan on how to reach his goal, which makes it rather hard for him to find his way at times. There are many points where Negi is forced to seriously think on his actions and goals, something rather difficult for any 10-year-old, even a prodigy. The girls also have serious points in their back stories, making them more than setup tools for a hot spring scene. Yeah, this anime have none of that. I very disappoint it with this anime, it could have been great.
They don't seen right
One of the first things I didn't like was the animation, the colors of the girl's hair was to bright and the background seen out of place. Half of the ladies hair color are different from the manga, I didn't really have a problem with that. The designs of the characters are a little off, they don't seem right to me. Eva
and the twins seem more taller then Negi
. The fanservice is almost gone, taking half of the jokes with it.
The story is the same as the manga all way up to episode #22. The anime like to change certain events, like the first scene. The first scene in the manga was Negi
graduating, in the anime its Asuna
dress as a fish. If someone who never read the
Why Fate? Why you didn't have a bigger part in the story
manga before saw that part, they would have a lot of questions.
Some of the the change are good like Setsuna
being security guards for the academy
and some are bad like Eva
fight. The story seem rush and random, all the best parts was taken out or place somewhere else. They didn't really go into Konoka
, or Fate
. The worst part is that Negi
didn't grow in his character, he seem like the same ten year old kid from the start of the anime. Also what happen to Fate
The opening is one of the laziness opening I have ever seen in an anime before. It just all the girls playing volleyball and pictures. They could have make it look more better then that.
All the characters are just cardboard cut out of their manga counter parts.
This ending make me so mad, it is in the same league as the Digimon 02 ending
All in all, I hope the next season
is better then this.
