This is the anime where a young wizard Negi Springfield not only battles against the romance and pure excitement of being a English teacher in a wild high school. But also battles to solve his students unusual fears and becomes a great wizard in search of his lost father.
This is the first anime series that is based on the Negima! manga series by Ken Akamatsu (creator of "A.I. I Love You & "Love Hina"). The second season was titled slightly differently as, Negima!?. The two seasons were not connected.
Negi Springfield is a ten year-old, boy wizard who dreams of being a great wizard like his father. The man known to the Magical World as the Thousand Master. On the day of Negi's graduation ceremony, he is given his magical certificate that will tell him his task. It declared his path was to become an English teacher to a middle school for girls, Mahora Academy, in Japan. There he runs into a wild girl, Asuna Kagurazaka, who discovers his secret identity as a waizard, and they form a pact.
In a class of thirty-one middle school girls. This young teacher is on a journey filled with test, adoring girls, vampires, and his quest to find his father. Along with these girls not only does he experience romance of various types but the girls different skills and personalities. it's not long before all the girls in his class have a thing for him.
but one person in particular is the star of the series.
Asuna Kagurazaka is cursed and made a deal with the devil. When Negi finds out that one of his most dearest freinds are in trouble he jumps into action. But he was too late. That day Asuna died.
Even though Negi couldn't get over the fact that she was gone and that he can't live without her unrelieved feelings seem to grow.
But the depression seems to deepen and deepen.
But his students refuse to let him give up. The smartest of all the students in the class developed a time machine.
He travels back in time when Asuna was young and still trying to fix her mistakes. There he finds out that his dad was helping Asuna to fix her horrible mistake.
Together with the girls form his class they came face to face with the devil and engage in battle.
With Niga's magic and his students joined with super powers together they find out Asuna's secret past and beat the devil.
Then days continue as normal Asuna is brought back to life, there friendship is reunited and they treasure everyday of the rest of their high school years together. Till that fateful day where Negi becomes a great wizard, all there students complete their dreams and find exactly what they are looking for.
The titles of the episodes were done in Latin for the Japanese and English versions. This was to keep with the themes of the spells of the series being chanted in Latin.
Episode numbers were done in Roman Numerals.
