Sure, you murdered my parents, my friends and countless innocents, but no hard feelings, right?

Naruto wants to drag Obito out of the darkness he has created for himself, and the Shinobi Alliance fights to rip the power of the Ten-Tails from him. Now, what will Madara do?

The Good

Everything in this chapter is well drawn. Especially some of the closing pages as the Biju are finally released. Seeing this makes me hopeful that Samui can still be rescued.

The Bad

This would have been a double face palm, if I hadn't been holding my Kindle in my left hand.
This would have been a double face palm, if I hadn't been holding my Kindle in my left hand.

Many of the problems I've been having with this story from the previous two chapters is continued in spades with this issue. Once more, we have two guys standing in an empty void just staring into each other and chatting. Only just for a moment are we hinted that Obito may finally show some resolve for his actions, but even that proves false a few seconds later. Once more, this "big-bad" is shown to be little more than a child lashing out and no true conviction to his actions.

It's the themes of this chapter that make this even more confusing. In the inner-space, Naruto is convincing Obito to join them, then the Shinobi Alliance is shown to be in a life or death struggle trying to pull the power away from him in reality. Why are they having to fight so hard when he's suppose to be giving up?

The Infinite Tsukuyomi has often been compared to the Human Instrumentality Project from EVANGELION. That comparison becomes even stronger as Kishimoto attempts to go psychedelic-psychological with the conclusion. Part of me expected to see this edition end with everyone standing around Obito and applauding.

Verdict 2/5

This is a point in an arc where you should be excited, right? Yet here I stand confused and in the cold. Kishimoto showed such promise as the action was building, and the heroes formed together into that giant Armored Nine-Tails attack. Now that's a shōnen conclusion on the scale of GURREN LAGANN. I don't know if Kishimoto just can't write psychological stories, or if it's just that he didn't earn it with this particular story and character.

So Obito didn't REALLY want to murder everyone and destroy the world? He just needed attention?

Kishimoto...no...

It feel more like Persona 4 then Evangelion, but that just me

My hopes was up when Tobi was choking Naruto, then it die when Naruto turn into younger Obito. I feel if Naruto just rip out Tobi's Sharingan, Tobi will act like a normal person.

Really? In both cases you have a person who is deeply moody, loses the woman they love due to some tragedy of their own making, selfishly betrays anyone who cared about them, then tries to destroy reality just so he can get his girl back. Obito Uchiha = Gendo Ikari

See this is the kind of BS that happened with Pein that made me give up hope for this franchise. I don't know why some people still even bother with it anymore but if that's what they want, good for them.

This is the kind of comment that is frankly making me further believe people aren't generally trying to get what type of story Naruto is really trying to tell and instead want to see whatever they want to see based on shounen cliches.

Ugh, Naruto, you don't have to turn EVERY bad guy into a friend, just beat him and make him tap out, seriously, it's repetative at this point.

@Hypeathon:

It more of me wishful thinking, since what Naruto is doing have been done before. (I'm so bored of this arc) Also people have different view and things

@FoxxFireArt: wow...I have heard some bad explanations of eva from people but that...that is just terrible. There is SOOO much more going on in eva than that. I mean seriously comparing any of this crap (going mostly based off what you have said about it) to the total mind fuck/philosophical thoughtprovokiness that is eva is wrong wrong wrong.
