I want to see how someone cosplays this.
I want to see how someone cosplays this.

With the Alliance out of harm's way, Naruto goes on offense along with the Fourth Hokage. However, Obito may finally be ready to unleash his final plan. Will Naruto's newly formed power be too late to save the Shinobi World?

The Good

Same trick, larger scale.
Same trick, larger scale.

How much power is too much for a sh┼Źnen hero? I loved that Naruto was going to have to take a set back, in the way of power modes, to fight Obito. It appeared this fight would be about out thinking the villain in place of overpowering him. Instead, Kishimoto has taken the rather bizarre step in combining senjutsu with Nine-Tails chakra. The melding of frog and fox makes for an extremely odd pairing.

That being said. This is pretty easy to forgive when the outcome looks so appealing. The slow pacing of the previous chapters has made me hungry for some action, and this edition delivers like an all-you-can-eat lunch deal. Not in just a single scene but in several. This is the sort of chapter you know they'll be saving up the animation budget for when this arrives to the anime.

The Bad

"D&squot;OH!"
"D'OH!"

I can imagine that there were some people that were turned off by the scene of Naruto's Homer Simpson-esque moment upon realizing that ninjutsu doesn't work on Obito. It completely sucked the air out of what was a rather dramatic moment, but what's the big deal? It was a funny scene that got me to chuckle. I'm not going to hold it against Kishimoto to add some personality into the story.

My real problem of this chapter was having to deal with Sasuke's childish envy of Naruto's growth. I'm profoundly confused why so many find such a petty character appealing.

Verdict 5/5

This had been a real 4 out of 5 week for most of the SHONEN JUMP Trilogy. I wouldn't say they were great, but they were very good. Each one was well worth a read, and NARUTO was the best in show, as far as action goes. If the previous two chapters were dragging for you, this is one you don't want to miss.

I remember the moment that Kakashi had a monolog about how Naruto had surpassed him. That aggravated me a lot because over the course of the series Naruto has shown little to no growth in skill. Sure, he gained more strength thanks to being able to control more fox chakra, but I would hardly consider Naruto a skilled ninja.

Naruto's only natural talent (besides Fox chakra) is to make clones and to make the rasengan. Hell, Naruto never learned to do the rasengan in one hand. It's annoying when characters are talking about a character's growth without it being obvious to the viewer or reader.

@Lurkero: IDK About that. naruto not a skilled ninja?? he mastered the rasengan. developed it further than the fourth ever could. learned to use his shadow clones effectively and gather info. mastered sage mode. mastered doing rasen-shuriken and throwing it in sage mode. I could go on. naruto has clawed and scrathed to come this far. I think you forgot how this guy used to be at the start.

I think we need to define words. Is Naruto strong? Yes I would say so. Is he skilled? Heck no! He has none of the natural grace or talent of the geniuses like Itachi, Tobirama, or Orochimaru. He is more akin to Hasharama, though even he possessed a good bit more guile and skill than Naruto.

Ultimately the biggest problem I have with Naruto is that they claim to be ninja, yet the main character show's practically none of the traits required to be a ninja. Heck! I don't think Naruto has even ever truly killed any of his opponents.

*Sigh* I just get annoyed that its like this series cannot decide whether to be a young adult/adult manga or kid-friendly.

I understand where your coming from, but got to remember though that Naruto's goal is to bring peace to the world and stop hate... can't really do that with a lot of killing so yeah he is a bad ninja but almost all of the older generation have killed somebody or at least claim too. Heck didn't kakashi stay behind after one specific fight just to kill somebody?

@KingSolomon:

Naruto's goal is to bring peace to the world and stop hate

I was thinking about that goal of peace, if that does happen will the Ninjas be out of a job and the villages have to shut down (because they are a military village).

No one, need Ninjas in peace times

Anyway, I find this chapter to be so so, wish the arc can move faster

@Destinyheroknight

: Yeah ninja's of the era would be gone but I think they would all just become peace keeping cops and still compete with one another. There will always be a bad egg out there, not to mention this is just one country in the world, we don't know what is going on in other parts of the naruto world.... and we may never know.
