The Hokages use their immortal Edo Tensei forms to full effect in trying to analyze Obito and his new Jinchuriki abilities.

The Good

Obito has just literally taken this series hostage.

Some of my issues with the length of this arc aside, I appreciate we're finally seeing some action in this series that could -- hopefully -- lead to a finale. The fact it's not even mindless brawling just adds to enjoyment behind this chapter. Leave it to ninja of this level to take full advantage of being the resurrected dead to work out their enemies skills. They're just going to reform.

Maybe I've missed something, but has it ever been explained why Tobirama developed the Edo Tensei to begin with? He must have had some sort of plan if he was also creating support techniques that branched from it.

The Bad

Sometimes less is more in a naming theme, Minato.

Could someone possibly explain the appeal of Sasuke to me, and I'm not just talking about in fiction. He comes across as Kishimoto's attempt at Vegeta but just can't stick the landing. Vegeta could be a jerk, but you saw he was redeemed after his 'Come to Goku' moment on Planet Namek. In this chapter, Sasuke does save Naruto from death, but goes on to reason it's just becasue he wants to be the one to kill him. Why?! His entire motivation seems as if he wants to do it to prove he can. It's the behavior of a child.

Verdict 4/5

The action and art are up to Kishimoto's usual standard. He's just failing to grab me whenever he shifts focus over to Sasuke. To think he's the one responsible for reviving the Uchiha Clan. They're screwed. One has to wonder which has me more excited. The action or the potential for an end to this two year war arc.

NARUTO will be ruling the reviews next week since it's the only one of the Shonen Trilogy that isn't on break.

There was a time in the beginning of Naruto that Sasuke could be viewed as Naruto's Vegeta, but after the battle with Orochimaru Sasuke lost that title. While both Vegeta and Sasuke had stubborn personalities Vegeta was constantly trying to prove himself worthy to be the Prince of Saiyans while Sasuke has had shifting motivations and a childish attitude about it the whole way through.

Vegeta also did some cool stuff to save the day multiple times.

Word. I know Sasuke is only around 16 ( a lot of people forget this in the series, they're still just kids) but he's coming of very immature and childlike.
