Where do I begin? Well this movie was not what I expected it to be. The plot is good although there are some things I definitely did not like about the movie. Lets start of with the good and end with the bad. The Goods Parts Of The Movie: I enjoyed the plot of the movie, it was well thought of and clearly had a lot of effort put into it. It was good that everyone was in character and no alterations to their respective personas were made. This movie revolved around Naruto, Michiru and Hikaru. Naruto, Sakura, Rock Lee (Who is taking Sasuke's place due to his depart from Konoha) and Kakashi are assigned by Tsunade to protect the prince of the Land Of The Moon. During this adventure they encounter a lot of obstacles, mainly the hired assassins sent to kill the prince and his son. The prince of the Land Of The Moon is called Michiru, he is an overweight, obese man who values money above all believing that it can buy him anything he pleases, his son Hikaru is at first sight a haughty child who adopted his father's belief that money can buy everything. However in reality Hikaru is actually quite a sensitive boy and merely wishes to have friends and because he does not know how to make them he resorts to using money to presumably "buy" people's affection but later on in the movie both he and his father learn the error of their ways. The first realization Michiru gets is when he is once again rejected by his ex-wife who in turn slaps him for not giving her the most important thing of all during the time when they were married however this act confuses Michiru who is oblivious to what she means as he offered her palaces and various riches but did not give her what she actually wanted (love obviously). As the movie goes on, we have a glimpse of the villains in the film, my favorite antagonist being Shabadaba who betrays Michiru's father (the king of the Land Of The Moon) simply for the objective of being the richest man in the kingdom. Hikaru later on learns the error of his ways as Naruto gives him countless life lessons that he cannot simply look down on people. Well I'm not going to ramble on and describe the entire plot, mainly the plot was good but that isn't everything to it.
I also praise the voice actors for their brilliance. Particularly the English Version of the movie had better voice actors in my opinion because they actually take time properly lip synch with the animation. I would like to praise Maile Flanagan (Naruto's English Voice Actor), Kari Wehlgren (Hikaru's Voice Actor), Michael Sorich (Michiru's Voice Actor) and Terrence Stone (Shabadaba's Voice Actor) for sheer brilliance, they managed to stay in character and did a great job during the emotional scenes of the movie. Aside from the impressive voice acting and good plot I enjoyed the sound effects but there are the downsides of the movie.
The Bad Parts Of The Movie: I did not enjoy the animation of the movie, in my personal opinion it was mediocre and not enjoyable to watch, the only decent animation in the movie was Rock Lee's fight scene. Aside from that I absolutely despised the animation used in this movie, it was a disappointment. I also did not like the excessive crying of Hikaru, it was quite bothersome, the crying was not a bad element but they used a little too much of it in the movie. The awful animation combined with Hikaru's excessive crying in the movie was just too much of a negative point for me and despite having some good points, the negative parts of the movie were just too prominent to forgive. I'd give this movie a 7/10 being that it is a "Good" movie not "Very Good" just "Good".
