Only the first three volumes of the second manga have been officially translated into English.

In addition to the manga, there is also an anime series that ran for a total of 26 episodes in 2003. The anime was licensed for English release by ADV Films.

Plot

After annoying the all-father Odin with his constant tricks, the trickster Loki is transformed into a child and exiled to Earth as punishment. He lives a comfortable enough existence within a large mansion, but hopes to one day return to Asgard, the land of the gods. To achieve this, he becomes a detective so he can collect the aura of the evil spirits that infest the world to enhance his magical abilities. Things get complicated, however, when other Norse gods start showing up on Earth, many of whom with the intent to end Loki's life permanently.

Characters

Loki

Loki is the Norse god of mischief and the main protagonist of the series. After one too many tricks, Odin transformed Loki into a child and exiled him to Earth. To be able to return to his original form and the world of the gods, Asgard, he needs to gather evil aura. He formed and runs the Enjaku Detective Agency so he may achieve this.

Mayura Daidouji

Mayura Daidouji is a high school student with an insatiable love for mystery. After receiving help from Loki, she decides he needs an assistant and promotes herself to the role. While initially annoyed by her, Loki grows to enjoy her company and she becomes an important member of the Enjaku Detective Agency.

Ryuusuke Yamino

Ryuusuke Yamino is Loki's loyal servant and second son, the world serpent Jörmungand. He was rescued by his father and was magically transformed into a human male so that he could accompany Loki to Earth. He lives with his father and is in charge of the chores. He is almost always by his father's side and is very protective of him.

Narugami

Amongst the first Norse gods to arrive on Earth is Narugami aka Thor, the god of Thunder. He takes on the form of a teenager and is never without his bokken (which in actuality is his hammer Mjolnir in the disguise). Though initially sent to kill Loki, Narugami decides there is no need and when he is unable to learn how to get home becomes a regular sight at the Enjaku Detective Agency.

Reiya Ohshima

Reiya Ohshima aka Freyja is the second Norse god to appear on Earth. She is sent to Earth by Odin and takes on the form of a child much like Loki, but unlike the trickster, she is unable to remember anything about her true self. She develops a crush on Loki after he helps her and becomes a close friend to the members of the detective agency.

Kazumi Higashiyama

Kazumi Higashiyama aka Heimdall is the third Norse god to appear on Earth and the first to pose an actual threat to Loki. He is sent to Earth by Odin with a mission to kill Loki. He works alongside Freyr and uses the aid of the fickle Norn sisters in his attempts to accomplish his mission. He possibly harbors the most hatred towards the trickster that stems from a time Loki stole his right eye.

Freyr

Freyr is the brother of the goddess Freyja and comes to Earth with Heimdall to kill Loki. He proves to be ineffectual, however, when he falls head over heels for Mayura and spends all his time attempting to win her heart. He likes to present himself as a mysterious thief and often leaves notes to warn of his future heists.

The Norn Sisters

Urd, Verdandi and Skuld are the three goddesses of fate. Kazumi Higashiyama recruits them to help kill Loki, but they are much more interested in their own goals than those of Odin. They - especially Verdandi and Skuld - help Loki and his crew on ocassion as well as hinder them. Their motivations are unclear, but Urd's are perhaps the most ambigious, leaving even her sisters unsure of her goals.
