Mystic Eyes of Death Perception

Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are a type of circuit that allows the eyes and brain of its user to interpret and interact with the mortality of everything that exists in the form of lines and dots. Sharp objects such as knives can be used to cut lines and dots seen with the Mystic Eyes. Cutting lines inflicts damage to the target and makes them incapable of healing or repairing said damage if the line corresponding to the specific damage on the object is completely severed from the target. Cutting dots "erases" the target from existence as objects lose all their properties and living beings are killed instantly with no way to bypass or reverse the effects of the attack, not even through reincarnation. Users of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception gain them through near-death experiences and it is believed gaining the ability allows one to get one step closer to getting to the root of all things, Akasha.

Several levels of perception with the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception have been observed through different users. Here are the levels that have been observed thus far in Type-Moon works:

• Roa- His Mystic Eyes aren't considered "true" ones like Shiki Nanaya's as he is only capable of discerning the lines of living things. By cutting many lines of his target, Roa is capable of fatally damaging his foe to the point where they eventually die from too much damage to their life force.
• Shiki Nanaya- Nanaya is capable of discerning the dots and lines of anything with a physical existence like living beings and inanimate objects. Prolonged use of his Mystic Eyes causes strain on his brain and because they were always active, he was given a pair of Magangoroshi glasses that seal his ability while he wears them. Trying to comprehend more unique existences like Heroic Spirits and True Ancestors run the risk of overloading Nanaya's brain and killing him if he were to try doing so.
• Shiki Ryougi- Ryougi's Mystic Eyes expands to interacting with any living being without physical form or concept as long as she is capable of discerning its existence, be it a ghost, disease, psychic attack, magic and so forth. Ryougi is capable of keeping her Mystic Eyes active indefinitely without strain.
• Shiki Ryougi (Void)- Ryougi's third personality connected to Akasha and implied to have a much stronger variant of the other personality's Mystic Eyes as she claims she could easily destroy all of reality using them.
