Released on 11-6-2004 Ashil asks Hao why is he so attached to Yoh, and Hao asks Ashil to kill Yoh's friends to make Yoh less carefree. When Ashil asks Hao what if Yoh gets in the way, Hao just smiles. Luchist wants Big Guy Bill to protect Yoh. Yoh and his friends are waiting for the bus in the middle of the American desert, and Horohoro gets into an argument with Ren over whose ideal to wait for the bus. Ryu asks Yoh if he can hitchhike with Billy again, but Yoh declines because Yoh does not want to bother Billy. Ashil makes his appearance when his oversoul comes out of the ground. Big Guy Bill has his oversoul surrounding Yoh to protect him and keep him from saving his friends. Ashil explains that Yoh is Hao's descendant which shocks everyone. Meanwhile at Izumo, Anna learns more about Hao Asakura from Yohmei. After explaining that Hao has mastered the pentagram and has control over his soul during reincarnation, Manta steps out. Manta explains that he has heard of Hao, and says Hao wants Yoh to get stronger and join him. Yohmei asks Anna to deliver the Ultra Senji Ryakketsu to Yoh in America. Back to the battle of Ashil and Yoh's team, Ashil beats up Ryu and Horohoro, but the two remain alive. Ren takes advantage of Ashil by using Golden Chuka Zenma on him. Ash However, Ashil targets Lyserg (distracted by Ashil's fact about Yoh) which Ren saves him. Ashil captures Ryu and Horohoro, and then Ashil uses his oversoul's mirror to blind Ren and Lyserg, and he captures them. Now, Ashil has all of Yoh's friends in his oversoul's four hands. Yoh powers up Amidamaru to materialize him and blows away Big Guy Bill's steel curtain. Yoh frees his friends by cutting Ashil's oversoul's arms. Yet, Ashil's oversoul regenerates its arms which Lyserg and Yoh figures out Ashil's spirit medium, earth. When Horohoro freezes the ground, Yoh slices off Ashil's oversoul. Ashil still regenerates his oversoul and tries to attack once more. However, Ashil gets shot by a shining bullet, and his oversoul shatters. Marco, his arch angel (Michael), and his X-Laws appear. Even though the X-Laws fight to kill Hao and his followers and Marco knows Yoh is Hao's descendant, Marco asks Yoh to join him. After Marco answer that they execute Ashil, Yoh declines Marco's offer. Marco decides to let Yoh think about it, and his group disappears in the light. Finally, Yoh and his team rides the bus, but they feel horrible after the battle while Lyserg smiles about the X-Laws.

Anime and Manga Differences
In the manga, Mohamed Tabarsi (Turbine) tells Yoh's group that he is Hao's descendant compared to the anime, Ashil is the one who tell Yoh's group. Unlike the manga, Manta does not appear when Yohmei explains to Anna about Hao. Instead, Tamao and her spirits are the only spies. Also, Marco kills Ashil in the anime while in the manga, Marco kills Boris Tepes.
