Five years after moving to Tokyo Sana Hidaka comes back to Sakuranomori only to find out that while some things have stayed the same, others have drastically changed.
Overview
Myself; Yourself is an adaptation of the visual novel of the same name developed by Yeti, which was released on 2007 for the Playstation 2. It contains 13 episodes and was released between October 3, 2007 and December 23 of the same year.
It was directed by Kuroda Yasuhiro, whose other work includes directing a few episodes of the popular mecha series, Full Metal Panic! And it was produced by Dogakobo and aired on TV Kanagawa.
Plot
When he was 11 years old, Sana Hidaka had to leave the small town of Sakuranomori when his parents found a job in Tokyo, having to leave his childhood friends Nanaka Yatsushiro, Aoi Oribe, Syusuke Wakatsuki and Syuri Wakatsuki behind. Not before promising that he’ll never forget them.
Five years have passed and he is now a 16 year old highschool student. After being bullied by his classmates he decides to go back to Sakuranomori and see his childhood friends again. He starts living on his own in an apartment run by Aoi’s family and enters the same school she and his old childhood friends are going to. While Aoi, Syuri and Syusuke have not changed at all, he finds soon finds out that the dearest of his friends, Nanaka Yatsushiro has changed her attitude and way of being.
Now Sada musts find out the truth behind Nanaka’s dark past while at the same time trying to re-adapt to his new life and help his other troubled friends.
Music
The opening theme to the show is "Tears Infection" by Japanese singer Kaori and the closing theme is "Kimi to Yozora to Sakamichi to" by Itō Kanako who also made the closing theme for School Days.
