The episode begins with Naruto posing for a picture for his ninja registration card. Instead of doing a regular pose, he paints his face and poses in a more inappropriate manner. Sarutobi groans as he tells Naruto that he has to retake the picture. Naruto does not move from his stance and uses his Sexy Jutsu to persuade the Hokage to let him keep the picture. Sarutobi keels over in a nosebleed, which he quickly recovers from.
Meanwhile, a young boy pops out from out of the hallway and proclaims an attack on Sarutobi, and soon falls over on his face. The young boy claims that Naruto set a trap that he fell into as the boy's sensei Ebisu runs in after him. Naruto scolds the boy to which Ebisu tells Naruto that he is the grandson of Sarutobi. Instead of showing respect to the boy, Naruto pummels him to the ground before leaving.
As he walks through town, Naruto notices he is being followed by a slew of crummy disguises. He confronts the young boy, who reveals himself to be Konohamaru and implores Naruto to teach him how to perform the Sexy Jutsu so he can defeat his grandfather. Naruto is reluctant to do so, but sees how determined Konohamaru is and allows him to be his student. He takes him around the village, trying to get Konohamaru to perform the jutsu perfectly as he botches it time after time. He takes him from the markets to the women's bath house but fails each time.
Back at the Hokage's office, Sarutobi and Iruka discuss how the village treats Naruto. Sarutobi explains how the villagers have treated Naruto with much scorn and hatred throughout most of his life and even though he had hoped the children would be kinder to Naruto, the hatred their parents carry has transfered with them as well. He also points out how Minato wanted the people of the Hidden Leaf Village to treat Naruto as a hero for having the massive burden of carrying the Nine-Tailed Fox inside of him.
Naruto asks Konohamaru why he is so determined to defeat his grandfather and become Hokage. Konohamaru explains that he is named after the village, Konohagakare, but no one ever addresses him as such, most people refer to him as the "honorable grandson of the 3rd Hokage." He insists that he wants to be Hokage so that people will finally see him for who he is and call him by his true name.
Ebisu shows up and scolds Naruto for trying to teach Konohamaru pointless jutsus and mocks him since he considers that Naruto will never become Hokage. Konohamaru finally transforms into the sexy Jutsu, a woman with black hair, but this does not phase Ebisu. Naruto steps in and uses his Shadow Clone jutsu which still does not effect Ebisu. It is when Naruto and his clones transform into the Sexy Jutsu to unleash the Harem Jutsu does Ebisu fall. Sarutobi, who watches from afar, groans as he comments that the Harem Jutsu could easily defeat him.
After the fight, Konohamaru wants to know why Naruto didn't let him finish off Ebisu. Naruto explains that it takes a lot of hard work to become Hokage and it is not as easy as Konohamaru makes it out to be. He also mentions that Konohamaru has to eventually defeat him if he truly wants to become Hokage. Konohamaru appears to understand as he claims that he is no longer Naruto's student but instead his rival to become the next Hokage.
