The various misadventures of Twilight Sparkle and friends as they work together to find and showcase the true meaning of Friendship.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the fourth generation of the My Little Pony series. It has been revamped to cater to young girls and reflect on this new age of children. The creator behind this revamp, Lauren Faust, has previously worked on The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Both of which pushed to break boundaries and stereotypes for children's television.
MLP: FiM has an impressive cult following with viewers who are not a part of the core demographic, often referring to themselves as bronies. They are typically very upfront about it and wear their passion on their sleeves. There are almost equally as many people on the internet who hate the subculture that's developed around the show, dubbing it the cancer of the internet.
Twilight Sparkle - A bookish unicorn who strives to learn anything and everything she can. Prior to the series, she preferred studying alone at the expense of interacting with other ponies, but at her mentor Celestia's advice she has ventured out to make friends and learn from experience. Her unicorn magic is unusually powerful, and her cutie mark, a collection of magic sparks, reflects this.
Applejack - A stubborn and hardworking Earth pony, AJ is honest, plainspoken and practical. She and Rarity have different ideals and tend to not see eye-to-eye, but they overcome these differences to become friends. AJ works at Sweet Apple Orchards, a farm that has been part of the Apple family livelihood for generations. Her cutie mark is a trio of apples.
Rarity - An elegant unicorn with a refined taste for high fashion and style. Rarity enjoys glitz and glamour and is the most conventionally feminine of the ponies. She has a knack for making dresses and contributes to the community of Ponyville with her extreme generosity and love of giving. Her cutie mark is three diamonds, reflecting her expensive preferences.
Fluttershy - A soft-spoken and timid pegasus pony, Fluttershy's skills are with animals. She is the most introverted of the bunch but has been known to go out of her way to help any and all in need. Her Element of Harmony is kindness and her cutie mark consists of pink butterflies.
Rainbow Dash - Nearly the polar opposite of Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash is a pegasus who is loud and proud. Rainbow Dash strives to be the coolest and is the biggest tomboy out of her group of friends. She is very out-spoken and driven and loves to pull pranks. She has a lot of personal goals and objectives, but will forever remain loyal to her friends in the end. Her cutie mark is a rainbow lightning bolt.
Pinkie Pie - Pinkie loves a good party and lives for smiles. Her element is that of laughter. Pinkie has a very bubbly personality and often seems a little crazy. She tends to eat everything in sight and loves a good cupcake. Pinkie's main goal is for everypony to get along and have as much fun as possible in the process. She's true to her friends and means as little harm as possible. Her cutie mark consists of balloons.
