seto no hanayome is a anime by Square Enixe that oddly has nothing to do with Final Fantasy; about a boy who gets saved by a mermaid, but due to mer law one of them has to die. However the mermaids mother finds a loop hole in the law that if they get married neither of them has to die. At first I thought by the summery this has to be like a crappy Disney movie but it turned out to be closer to a weird mix of FLCL and a hint of dokuro-chan. The nonsensical story and sometimes dark humor of FLCL is vary present. The drawling style is nice and sharp which I prefer which is a much added bonus. However the major point of it all is the humor. I've literally laughed my ass off at this show at some of the FLCLesk jokes. The characters are well very simple are all very likeable (minus maybe the 3 fish brother things) and the main female and male characters are so likeable your feel like your routing for them. The story is always crazy but never to the point of being annoying. The main problem with this show and the problem of most good anime like FLCL, and Elfenlied is that the whole thing is relatively brief. Possibly this short time span is to its advantage cutting you off before its one trick pony starts to   get old however it leaves you feeling unfinished. So I will say the same thing I say about seto no hanayome as a do FLCL it has flaws, but watch it anyway because you will never see anything like it anywhere else and isn’t that what anime is all about

4 Half shark half teacher monsters out of 5.
