Why is MW called to be Osamu Tezuka's darkest work?

I found out what is the theme of this is that this manga shows man's nature of evil. When I watched the movie version, it is called a sinful thriller.
 
So why is MW called to be Tezuka's darkest work?

check the other work by tezuka
 
see if there's one as "dark" as MW

Man, I really, really need to hear more about MW. Like, all I know its that its Tezuka, and its come up a bunch recently. Probably AnimeObsesors fault ^_^

meh i prefer monster, MW is full of frustration of competent and willing character turned idiotic after shagging michio

@cfatalis: I gave the Monster anime like, 12 episodes to get itself together. It was enjoyable, but nothing had hooked me yet. Is the manga better?
