A PC adventure game series created by âge that has been adapted into Manga, Light Novels and an Anime.


Muv Luv was originally a visual novel developed by Age that came out in 2003 the franchise consists of one more visual novel, four manga series of which Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse that began in 2009 is still on going, as well as two novel series and one anime adaption.

Muv Luv

Takeru Shirogane a regular high school student until he wakes up to a strange girl in his bed. He is quickly put into a tug of war match between his longtime friend Sumika and who he learns is a new transfer student Meiya Mitsurugi.
Sumika Kagami who is a childhood friend of Takeru's doesn't realize her feelings for Takeru until Meiya enters the picture and even then not out loud but still she fights so as not to loose Takeru to Meiya. Everyday the two have lunch battles to get Takeru to choose only he runs away.
Meiya Mitsurugi heiress to a vast empire moves out everyone in Takeru's neighborhood to make room for her own addition all stemming from a promise made to her as a child. She even got a sex permit signed by Takeru's parents.

Yuuya Bridges (ユウヤ・ブリッジス Yūya Burijjizu)

Yuuya Bridges a Japanese/American who hates all things Japanese due to the abandonment he suffered from his Japanese father. He is transferred to Alaska after an accident that occurred on his previous crew.
Yui Takamura (篁 唯依 Takamura Yui)
Voiced by: Nakahara Mai
Yui Takamura two years after the BETA overran the Supply base and she came out the only survivor among her fellow students who had been learning to Pilot the TSF's. She is now Imperial Japanese attendant of the XFJ plan.

Tarisa Manadal (タリサ・マナンダル Tarisa Manandaru
Voiced by: Nogawa Sakura
Tarisa Manadal a member of Yuuya's new team on the XFJ plan. She is small but feisty and at first challenges Yuuya but once he proved himself was also quick to accept him and his nickname for her, Chobi.
Stella Bremer (ステラ・ブレーメル Sutera Burēmeru)
Voiced by: Sayaka Ohara
Stella Bremer from Sweden is extremely well controlled and calm and specializes in sniping and often uses this tactic ,when she can, when fighting other Eishi and Beta alike.
Vincent Lowell (ヴィンセント·ローウェル Vinsento Rōueru)
Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita
Vincent Lowell longtime friend of Yuuya he comes to Alaska with him as a lead mechanic on the new XFJ plan, He often points out things to make Yuuya see past his hatred of all things Japanese.

Cryska Barchenowa(クリスカ・ビャーチェノワ Kurisuka Byāchenowa)
Voiced by: Hitomi Nabatame

Cryska Barchenowa a soviet test pilot and the other half of the Scarlett Twins she seems cold and distant to all except Inia at first but warms up to Yuuya through Inia's interest in him and Yui as they become friends in there rivalry for Yuuya.

Inia Sestina(イーニァ・シェスチナ Īnia Sesutina)
Voiced by: Mamiko Noto
Inia Sestina part of the Scarlett Twins she is rarley seen without Cryska Barchenowa and seems young in both actions and words. Being an Esper, Inia has the ability to read peoples thoughts as such does not get along well with many people besides Cryska, Yuuya, and Yui.

Muv-Luv (May 2003 -2004)

Muv-Luv the first manga adaption was written by Ukyou Takao and published by MediaWorks it was released in 2003 and ran until 2004. The series consisted of 3 volumes. The series follows the events in the first game.

Muv-Luv Unlimited (20042007)

Muv-Luv Unlimited the second manga released it covers the Unlimited portion of the first game. The series was written by Tomo Hirokawa and published by MediaWorks and consists of 4 volumes.

Muv-Luv Alternative (2007 – On going)

Muv-Luv Alternative the third manga released under this franchise which was released in 2007 was written by Azusa Maxima and as the others published by MediaWorks. The series has 8 volumes so far as it is still on going.

Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse (2009 – On going)

Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse the fourth manga released under the Muv-Luv franchise written by Takashi Ishigaki and as with the others published by MediaWorks. The series started publication in 2009 and is still on going.

Muv Luv published by Shueisha was the first serial novel which consisted of 4 volumes and was released between October 25, 2006 until June 30, 2009.

Muv Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse the second serial novel was published by Enterbrain its original run was from February 2007 to September 2011 and consists of 4 volumes.


Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse (July 2012December 2012)

Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse the anime adaption was written and directed by Takayuki Inagaki. Takayuki Inageki directed for episodes 1-2 and Masaomi Ando for episodes 3 and onwards. The original run for the series began on July 2, 2012 and ran until December 23, 2012.
