Monkey Turn

The Monkey Turn is a cornering technique that shaves seconds off your time in a powerboat race-but it's tricky to pull off and requires skill and daring. Kenji Hatano gets into powerboat racing in high school and promises his would-be girlfriend Sumi Ubukata that he'll be a champion in three years. He gets himself a top coach, Kanichi Koike; the tough and unyielding man puts him through a harsh regimen of training but he's determined to get to the top. His main rival is Takehiro Doguchi, son of a famous father, but there are many others with more experience, and Kenji has to work hard to make good on his promise to Sumi. Based on the manga by Katsutoshi Kawai; the second season was called Monkey Turn V.
