Is Luffy an Island buster now?

As we all know, in the conclusion to Luffy's fight with Don Chinjao, he was able to finish the fight with a new move, Thor Elephant gun

Now of course Don Chinjao is old, so his old feat of busting an island does not apply to his current headbutt, BUT We should all remember that this isnt the first time a Thor attack has been used by Luffy. It's no mere coincidence that this move has the same name as the one from One Piece Strong World. As most of us would agree since Oda acknowledged it, OP film 10 was canon. And in the movie he settled the fight with a powerful electric powered Giant Thor Axe. This took out Shiki along with the rest of the island holding his fortress. This was Luffy BEFORE time skip with a regular giant attack. as we all know, now his giant attacks are much more powerful, ESPECIALLY with Armament haki. So as far as I can tell, he can be considered an island buster along side Law, but this time with his new attack. Sure he has to charge it up by flying up, but I'd say that it is still acceptable. I'd also like to hear what others have to say on the subject, because if possible I'd like to use it in the battle thread since most people tend to leave knowledge about his new attack unsaid

The way i see it don was going to go back and open his riches. There is nothing that says he stopped being able to do what he use to with his head.

So, what you're saying is, you think that Luffy can destroy Punk Hazard with a single attack? I don't really see that happening.

I don't see Luffy being Island level from this.

@TheNeutralOne: ...except he tried and couldn't

@Kobra678: Punk hazard was a much larger island than the one Luffy busted in Strong world, and Law only cut about 3 mountains, which together makes an island imo.

And about when Chinjao couldnt, the reason for that was because it had to be focused into one spot on the island (for some reason, but the physics dont really make sense in the OP anyway XD) His area of affect was too wide when he did that

@Kobra678:

You don't understand what I meant. The reason why chinjao couldn't was because garp fucked up his head. He couldn't hit it like he used to. Luffy then proceeded to put it back into place while he had his armourment up. I don't think luffy is island level by any means unless he gets really high in the air and uses a gear third attack on a pretty small island. Other than that he is at mountain level.

Luffy is just a mountain level, if he was an island buster then he would have destroy Noah in one shot

Post by Jinbeifan1 (3,457 posts) See mini bio Level 14

@Destinyheroknight: Actually the reasonable explanation that he couldnt was that he would have to gain momentum like he did in the fight against chinjao, and he lacked the area needed to do that and the time to try

@TheNeutralOne: I'm willing to settle at mountain level, despite my belief it is island level, in a battle forum. but I'm hoping Oda will show more of his battle power soon

@TheNeutralOne: I misunderstood, my bad. I thought that you were saying that he could still open that ice place.
