In Gundam's Universal Century, a Newtype is a human with an evolved sense of awareness and ability. Amuro Ray is the most well known of Newtypes.

Opposite of super robots, real robots are tools of war and usually well armed, but fragile. Require a lot of pilot skills to be used effectively.
