If you're a fan of all things Gundam, you were likely aware of (or perhaps made a pilgramage to visit) the enormous Gundam that stood outside of Odaiba until September of last year. Of course, many people were sorry to see it go, as it drew a lot of tourists and natives alike and made for a beautiful spectacle. However, it wasn't long before we got word that it would be re-erected by Highashi-Suzuoka station, and the time has finally come.
You can watch a video below about the Gundam's new home. The kickoff is July 24th, which marks both the start of the Shizouka Hobby Fair and the 30th anniversary of Gundam. Talk about a major celebration! If you have a trip to Japan planned this year, you have to make it to see this. It'll only be up until January of 2011, so don't wait!

That thing is awesome! How much to buy it? I also don't see why the military doesn't work on projects like Gundams, I mean, they're just big versions of Iron Man. Sadly I will not be in Japan anytime soon so I won't be able to see this full scale Gundam in person.

LOL!  That's great. What better way to hide their "secret" Gundam project than to put one out in the open for all to see. :)

I saw this in person last night. Pretty awesome! I am going back on Tuesday to see it in the daytime and actually go inside the hobby fair. I got lucky that my vacation in Tokyo happened to match up with this.
