Many people will tell you many things during a recession. Most of them conflict, like "buy real estate," "sell/buy real estate," "buy/sell stocks" etc. etc., but one Japanese city has a different plan... erect an enormous gundam statue!
 
Yes, this is the same, monolithic 1:1 Gundam recreation you've heard about, but the city of Shizuoka believes that the statue will save their economy. In their report, the city believes that the monument will attract 900,000 visitors in its initially scheduled 300 days. They further say that this will result in over 40 billion yen in tourist related industries, and the creation of 9,600 jobs in the city total.
 
Wow, really? Maybe we need to do something similar. Any thoughts or ideas?

Hahahahha, that's quite amusing.... to be honest I never thought of using a Gundam for tourism before, lol.

Nothing is impossible for Gundam.

If you imagine those two yellow spots on the statue to be eyes and the crotch to be a nose, then the picture instantly becomes much better.

If they created a Giant Sazabi I would go, that Red marvel saved my ass a lot in Dynasty Warriors Gundam
