Mobile Suit Gundam Forum

" I'm sorta new to watching anime, I used to love watching Dragon Ball Z when i was little but now im just starting to come back to anime and I don't know much about it. I want to start watching any of the Gundam series but I not sure if they are all related or if they are all completely separate stories or whats. So yeah, I was just wondering if it matters which ones I watch first and which, if any or if all of em, are based in the same story line. "

" If you can stand older animation, I'd just go ahead and recommend the Mobile Suit Gundam compilation trilogy. It's three two-hour movies from the early '80s that cover the whole 1979 series, with more and more updated animation in each movie.  If you like military stuff and want something newer that's related to the original, 08th MS Team is a 13-episode OVA from the mid '90s. It's about one ground team in the military, so it's not your standard special protagonists in previously-unheard-of hi-tech suit. It's got good animation and battles.  If you want really new shows, I'd say Gundam 00. It has a lot of more contemporary themes of conflicting world powers, terrorism and their effects on civilians. Yeah, but he gets the Ez8, so it's alright.   Plus, Evolve should probably wait until more series have been seen. The Evolve series are supplements to other Gundam series. "
