Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team User Reviews

The 08th MS Team has the most interesting battles in The Universal Century Timeline. While what we mostly get from the other shows is space battles or lard land battles The 08 is different in that what we get is jungle warfare. The battles are quite different. The 08 is more down and dirty then the other UC Gundam shows. Also we see involment from townfolk who attack Zakus with RPGs, something I can't recall from any other Gundam show.

Also unlike the other shows the militaries are shown very differntly. The men and women on both sides are more laid back then Bright and Char ever would be, on there time off anyway. This has to be the most uniqe out of all the UC Gundams.

The 08 also has my favorite love story from Gundam to date. That's something that this show has in commen with all the others, like war love is also a big focus. Shiro and Ania are my favorite love birds. Also Michel obbession with BB's letters is fun to watch.

I guess the only thing I had a problem I had with this show was the final episode with the weird run in with the Zeon kids after the war ended. Not that I had the problem with crazy little pro Zeon kiddies running around but the way they had them disapear is very weird.

One thing I'll say for both The 08th MS Team and War In The Pocket is that you don't need to know The UC timeline to enjoy this. But they did add in Giren's speech and Zeon's prototype Mobile Armors for fans of the franchise. I'd reccomend this to anyone. It's a fun OVA and well worth buying.
