1958- . Often credited as Toshihiko Nishikubo-Japanese sources cannot agree which is the pseudonym and which the real name; he uses Mi-zu-ho on Ghost in the Shell. After graduating in sociology from Waseda University in 1976, he became an animator at Tatsunoko. He went freelance in 1979 and worked as an animator on Rose of Versailles and Mysterious Cities of Gold. His directorial debut was Street Corner Fairytales; he has also written scripts for anime.
