Minatsuki Takami

Origin

Minatuski is Yo Takami's younger sister. Both of them were victims of the Great Tokyo Earthquake in which Minatsuki's mother supposedly died. What truly happened was that Minatsuki's mother tried to save herself leaving Minatsuki to die. This eventually developed into Minatsuki losing trust in everyone, and becoming both self reliant, sadistic, and hateful. She began to create stories to her brother that their father was abusing her, watching as they fought as she began to become attracted to the violence and the supposed 'sister complex' her brother had developed for her.

Before the series begins, she is sent to Deadman Wonderland for killing her father. It is shown that she used her powers as a deadman to kill him. Yo claims that he will come to set her free from the prison.

Major Story Arcs

Life in Sector G

Minatsuki is a resident of Deadman Wonderland. She is in the G sector and is a Deadman. Her name used when she participates in the Deadman events such as carnival corpse is The Hummingbird. The branch of Sin she possesses is Whip WIng. This is when her hair extends and is used in a similar fashion to the way one would use a whip, hence the name Whip Wing. When Ganta first meets Minatsuki she comes across as very kind and shy. Minatsuki quickly tells Ganta the story of how her mother was killed in the earthquake, and that her father used to abuse her both domestically as well as sexually. She claimed that one day Yo walked in on her father attempting to rape her, Minatsuki claims she forgot what happened after that, all she knew is that when she woke up she had used her branch of sin and killed their father. At this time she acts very remorseful about what she had done. Later it is revealed that this story is a lie, revealed when Ganta and Minatsuki face off in the Carnival Corpse. At this point Minatsuki's true and much more sadistic personality is revealed and we find out what really happened to Minatsuki during the earthquake as well as their father. What truly happened was that Minatsuki's mother tried to save herself leaving Minatsuki to die. This eventually developed into Minatsuki losing trust in everyone, and becoming both self reliant, sadistic, and hateful. In the end Ganta wins the Carnival Corpse match against Minatsuki. The loser of the match is forced to give up an organ or part of their body for losing, and it is revealed that Minatsuki has already lost both a kidney and part of her stomach from the punishment game. Ganta is determined not to let this happen to her again and runs off to find help. Eventually he meets up with Scar Chain who hack into the Deadman Wonderland system and rig the punishment game so that Minatsuki only gets part of her hair off. This is one of the first moments when we see Minatsuki lapse and begin to regain her faith in humans crying tears of joy that she is not going to lose anything else.

Through out the series so far Minasuki has made many more appearances in the series.
